Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Drew Teresh ("we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use ContactMint: Cleaner & Backup (the "App").

ContactMint is designed primarily as an on-device contact management, backup, restore, export, and transfer utility. Your address book is not uploaded to or stored on a ContactMint cloud server operated by us.

1. Contact Data the App Can Access

With your permission, the App can access contact information stored on your device in order to provide the features you request. Depending on the feature and the data available from your operating system, this may include:

  • Names and display names;
  • Phone numbers and email addresses;
  • Postal addresses;
  • Organizations, job information, websites, and social profiles;
  • Events such as birthdays;
  • Relationships and notes;
  • Contact groups or account information where supported;
  • Contact photos where required for a full backup and supported by the platform.
Your contact data is used to provide contact-management features. It is not sold and is not used by us for advertising.

2. Contact Analysis and Cleanup

Duplicate detection, similarity checks, contact health analysis, previews, merge suggestions, and related cleanup processing are performed for the purpose of managing your address book. Contact information used for these functions is processed on your device.

3. Local Backups

The App may create local safety backups before contact-changing operations and may retain backup metadata such as creation time, contact count, file size, checksum, and backup reason.

Local backup content is stored on your device in App-controlled storage. The availability of a backup may end if the App or its local data is removed, the operating system clears storage, or the device becomes unavailable.

4. Portable Backup Files

When you create a portable backup, the App packages contact information into a password-protected encrypted backup file. You choose whether and where to export or store that file.

Portable backup files are under your control after export. If you move a backup to cloud storage, email, messaging, external storage, or another third-party location, the privacy practices of that destination apply.

5. Device-to-Device Transfer

Device-to-Device Transfer sends the selected contact backup directly between nearby devices over a local Wi-Fi network or hotspot. Transfer data is encrypted for the transfer session. Contact data is not routed through a ContactMint cloud backup service operated by us.

Connection/session information may be exchanged through a QR code to help the two devices connect. The QR code is intended to contain connection and session information rather than the contact database itself.

6. Excel Export

If you choose Excel Export, the App creates an .xlsx file containing the contact information selected for export. The file is written to the location you choose through the operating system's file interface.

Excel exports are not intended to be encrypted backups. Once exported, you are responsible for protecting and deleting those files as appropriate.

7. Premium Purchases

Premium purchases are processed by the applicable app store. We use RevenueCat to validate purchases and manage Premium entitlements.

RevenueCat may process purchase history, transaction information, and an anonymous app user identifier required for this functionality. Your device contacts and address book are not sent to RevenueCat.

We do not directly receive or store your full credit-card or debit-card details.

8. Permissions

ContactMint requests permissions only when they are needed for the corresponding feature. Depending on your device and platform, these may include permission to access contacts and local-network capabilities needed for Device-to-Device Transfer.

You can revoke operating-system permissions in your device settings. Revoking a permission may cause the related App feature to stop working.

9. Information You Send to Support

If you contact us by email, we receive the information you choose to send, such as your email address, message, and any diagnostic information or attachments you voluntarily provide. We use this information to respond to your request and provide support.

Please do not send contact databases, backup passwords, or other people's personal information to support unless it is strictly necessary and you are authorized to do so.

10. Third-Party Services

The App may interact with third-party platforms or services required for specific functionality, including operating-system contact providers, Google Play or Apple App Store, and RevenueCat. Those services process data under their own privacy terms.

Contact data may also be synchronized by contact providers already configured on your device (for example, Google, Apple, Exchange, or other account providers). Such synchronization is controlled by your device and account settings, not by ContactMint.

11. Data Retention and Deletion

Contact data processed locally remains subject to your device, contact provider, and backup settings. You can delete local backups through the App where that functionality is available, delete exported files using your device's file tools, or remove the App's local data through the operating system.

Purchase records may be retained by the applicable app store and RevenueCat as necessary to validate purchases, restore entitlements, prevent fraud, comply with legal obligations, and provide purchase-related functionality. If you want to request deletion of data associated with RevenueCat that we control as the App developer, contact us at the address below.

12. Security

We use technical measures intended to reduce unauthorized access to backup and transfer data, including encryption for portable backups and Device-to-Device Transfer. However, no software, storage medium, device, or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

You are responsible for keeping your device, exported files, and portable backup passwords secure.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the App, applicable law, platform requirements, or third-party services change. The latest version will be published on this page with an updated date.
